Relaxing 1 walk around nice gardens with an entourage of different birds following us wanting food. The pigeons and doves got a little too friendly, so if you have a pathological fear of birds, this place may not be for you. Our 2 year old...More

So so many gorgeous birds. The entrance fee is very reasonable considering the amount of birds and amazing gardens. The bird food is cheap which is nice too. Would be a perfect day out if you're on a budget with kids. Love this place!
We went on a rather wet day so very few people about. This meant that the bird were hungry and came to us for food which was a little worrying at times (for me - the kids seemed to love it).
Would be nice to...More
The gardens is a wonderful place, the birds are so friendly and eat food right out out your hand. There are so many amazing birds to see from Peacocks and Parrots to Chickens and Ducks its a fabulous place! The cafe is also top quality...More
My daughter loves this place so had a great visit on Wednesday this week. She loves the doves feeding from her hands and refuses to go if it is later in the day
A Peahen followed her around the whole place and she loved it
The cages were filthy, the animals looked awful. This zoo is terrible. The only zoo that I have seen worse then this one is the Otorohanga Kiwi House. I pitied the animals. Go to a pet store for a better time.
A fabulous place to interact with the birds and enjoy the beautiful grounds. Kids and adults alike love to feed the many birds roaming around. A great little cafe for food, too. Souvenir shop full of lovely, quirky things.

Hi there, well if they havent looked at this site in over a year then dont bother going. I took visitors there today and the place has run down terribly, the ponds were putrid, the grounds lacked care and attention, visitors were lost as there were no arrows pointing way out and they had a pushchair, I was quite shocked at how much the playground and the whole place had run down. The only thing that was acceptable really was the seating for the cafe which they had extended. It once was a pleasant day out but they better read the reviews and take note or they wont have any visitors at all.
