The walk starts close to the town (within a stone's throw of Cafe Viva) and there is dedicated parking. At first the path is concrete and while the first 250m is up a slope the remainder of the walk is flat and follows the Uretara Stream through the wetlands. The steel artwork is lifelike and the local birdlife interesting too.... More

We will be moving to Katikati soon and this will be a local treasure for us. A lovely walk by the river that goes through semi residential areas to open marshland then onto a headland by a rather pleasant retirement village. Nice sculptures of local bird life along the way and lots of the real thing too with a backdrop... More

Well kept walk, love the bird related artwork, and of course the actual bird life too. Great views along the estuary.

Well, it's a walk. With birds, sculptures and real ones, through a wet lands. If you enjoy walking, this is a very easy walk as it is completely flat. The sculptures are interesting, the wildlife plentiful and the walk relaxing. This is a 'turn around and walk back' type of track, so you can walk for as long or short... More

A lovely concrete path walk or run, easy for pushchairs, strollers, prams and bikes. Quiet, peaceful nice stop for picnic or lunch by the estuary. Feed the ducks with the children and observe the moa bird sculpture. Rubbish bins along the way so not to litter and keep Katikati beautiful and clean.

This is an easy walk to do and you can do as little or as much of the walk as you wish. There is lots of parking and easy access for wheelchairs or buggies, also a lovely little picnic spot beside the river, you'll also see Humphrey the Sea Elephant! The walkway meanders along the Uretara River with views and... More
