Paua World, experience the magic of NZ’s iconic unique shell the Paua. DVD and factory visits, extensive gift shop with factory priced souvenirs and park like grounds. Their is something for everyone including stunning Paua Shell jewellery, NZ Greenstone, Possum Merino which is 30% warmer than Cashmere and NZ's best beauty products made from Manuka Honey, Bee Venom, Lanolin, Olive and Rotorua Mud. You will LOVE our prices!!! All Companies Have a Beginning. Ours was in an old chicken shed in 1979 in the town of Masterton – North Island, New Zealand, population 20,000. Two years later the company and factory was moved South some 14 kilometers to its present purpose built site in the small rural town of Carterton, population 4100. We now have 2 companies, NZDimensionz, Which is our Manufacturing and wholesale company and Paua World-our retail tourist attraction.

I recently had my American family staying over we popped into the Paua world gift store. we had a fantastic time looking around the store and buying gifts and souvenirs for family at home. They were blown away at how friendly the staff were and the customer service. They thoroughly enjoyed their experience there so much so that a couple... More

Paua World was not what I was expecting. It is a magnificent gift shop full of NZ tourist gifts, and you can to into the factory and see the machines and such but I would have liked a tour (it wasn't advertised anywhere and I didn't ask about it) through the factory to learn a bit more about how the... Thank You for your review Emilie, we're pleased you enjoyed our gift store. Unfortunatly due to NZ health and safety standards we are unable to do a full factory tour. Customers are most welcome to ask our friendly staff about the jewellery making process and we would be more than happy to answer any questions. More

The ladies were very friendly and helpful in the shop. Huge range of gift ideas, especially to take home something unique from New Zealand.

We love popping in from time to time as the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. Always a hit when we take overseas family there as they can add a pin on the map outside which indicates which part of the world they came from. Super for Kiwi pressies to take to our family in South Africa.

Visiting Carterton with friends from overseas seeking some local gifts to take home we found this place full of very well crafted examples of New Zealand Paua and at reasonable prices.cheaper than that found in the main city. Service was very knowledgeable and aware that the product was going overseas time was taken to package the purchases to avoid damage.... More

If your in Wellington it is worth the one and a half hour drive to get there over the Rimutaki Hill (and what a beautiful scenic stress less drive that is). Once you arrive the shop has so much to offer, not just beautiful jewellery made from paua shell (abalone for Aussie's) they have all sorts of amazing things to... More

This small factory has a big souvenir shop attached. The proprietors don't seem to make any attempt to promote the factory where visitors can watch the workers polish and shape the shells. That's a shame, as it would be quite a drawcard. At the moment you can't really get close enough to see what they're doing - due to safety... More

I have been going here for years and years with students, overseas visitors and to purchase gorgeous items to send overseas to family members and sometimes to buy something for myself (usually in the way of jewellery). There are some lines they make on site but they have a broad range of affordable (great for the students) to the real... More
