This place was absolutely breathtaking. View that completely blew my mind, considering this was only a 2 hour drive from my home town, it felt like I was in the middle of somewhere in New Zealand. The dams were really interesting to learn about and we visited each of them.

Great family day out. Plenty of places for amazing picnics and walks. Stunning drive, fabulous scenery. Incredible damns, great visitors centre with incredibly helpful staff. Loos really clean. Best of all - it was a free family, fun day out.

A days visit to Elan Valley is well worth a visit. Some fantastic hilly walks. Stunning views and all of the damns can be driven to. The day we visited (Friday) the roads were so quiet, it was bliss!

Great place, well worth a visit!! We took our dog there on the lead, was good fun. £2 for all day carpark and bicycles available for hire for families/couples at the visitor centre.

Fabulous day out .. amazing scenery and a fantastic drive. We visited all the dams and we're lucky enough to have been given a map to drive the most scenic route by the Landlord of the B&B we stayed in

We started at the far end (not at dam end) the walk was quite hard going to start with through the woods, very muddy and slippery. Beautiful walk though, took us almost 3 hours... Would do it again.

A great way to blast away the winter cobwebs..a walk in the crisp clean exhilarating Welsh air! There are so many different walks to choose from, easy to challenging, we chose to just have a wander and see where it lead us. The sights and sounds are an absolute joy, but be warned, it is very cold in the winter... More

Four of us visited elan valley omg what outstanding views . Everything is laid out for easy visit the visitor centre was superb so well organised. There is easy access of disabled people and even route up the valley was not easy but very do-able in wheel chair. But best thing was the scenery just out this world

The visitor centre is great where you can have a nice meal at great value in a nice environment. A small shop and information centre. You can also hire bikes. The history of the place is all around you and the monumental effort that it took to build the dams is incredible. If you take some of the routes up... More
