About
The Majorero Cheese Museum stated aim is to make known this product and its elaboration processes, with particular focus on three key elements that have led to its existence: the natural features of Fuerteventura, a livestock culture and cheese making culture since the time of the aborigines and the majorera goat as the milk producer breed. The Majorero Cheese Museum is one of the top tourist attractions for those willing to know the true heart of Fuerteventura. Its visit includes the Cactus and Succulent Botanical Garden, that embraces the Antigua Mill, declared an asset of Cultural Interest

Very interesting visit with very good degustation
Dec 2020
The place is beautiful and the exhibition is new and very well arranged. The views from the rooftop are also good. The cactus garden is amazing.

The cheese degustation is really good. Natalie has drive and very good knowledge to guide you around 5 senses, pasteurisation vs raw options, and curation degrees! Our choice was the “curado” one!

Visited during our holiday in Calete De Fuste. Warm welcome from young lady at desk. Explained what the different exhibition buildings were, very friendly. Map outside shows whats where including the palm tree garden. Windmill, interesting to climb up to see the machinery inside. Terrace with beautiful views. Enjoyed visiting the exhibitions. Very very interesting and informative. Listen and read about the history. Worth a visit

Informative
Sep 2020 • Couples
Just for a change, this was a museum that although they had a product to sell, there was no hard sell to buy anything.
The little tour was very informative on the history of Cheese making in Fuerteventura, & also the history of the Canary Islands & its people.
All information was in English, as well as Spanish.
At the end we did buy some Goats Cheese , but the well informed lady told us all about the different types of cheese, then let's us decide if we wanted any.
The one we bought is extremely strong & we love it.

Thank you very much for your kind comment. As you say, in the museum shop we sell different types of goat cheese with the Designation of Origin stamp Queso Majorero, and many other local and artisan products. We are glad that you liked the cheese you bought! They are all excellent cheeses,. Hope to see you soon!

Cheese experience
Mar 2020
When we visited, the museum was out of season. However there are still a lot of interactive things to do.

The story of the islands is very interesting, raising different ideas on how they were formed, leaving you making your mind which prefer.

Then goes on to talk about the goats and the cheese that is made. Even talks about the kind of dog that herds the goats.

All set in a well maintained garden full of different cacti. There is a wind mill also to go and have a look at.

A great place to spend a few hours, in a well thought out museum.

Cheese Museum worth a stop
Jan 2020
The museum is situated on well kept premises, featuring an old mill and local plants. Cheese tasting facilities are on site, all goat cheese, but with different flavors. Delicious for those who like goat cheese. The museum is housed in a separate building, giving a nice overview on the goats and cheese production per se.

A lovely surprise.
Dec 2019
A very interesting and well presented small attraction well worth an hour if you're passing by. Very well presented displays of information in a pleasant situation and a beautifully restored windmill as the centrepiece. Staff are very friendly and helpful. A lovely girl called Veronica dealt with us and was so helpful, enthusiastic and eager to chat about the history and culture of her island which she was obviously very proud of. We were so pleased we visited as we hadn't really intended to actually go in.
