I was visiting Mt Cook with my parents and decided to take this 4wd tour. Its gets you to a look-out that we would not have been able to get to otherwise and is very worth it. The vehicles are lots of fun and not as bumpy as pre-warned....albeit you got a good jiggle! The guide was excellent and very... More

Although Graham was nice this was not a good activity. Not interesting (maybe it can be better in winter with snow), and way too expensive for what it is. I would advise you to take a trail instead !

On visiting Mount Cook area we were very fortunate with the weather, and got to see Mount Cook without any clouds hiding it from view. This is apparently very rare, so we consider ourselves lucky. We decided to do this 4WD tour for $80. It was ok, but the only thing we got to see, and obtain a good view... More

This trip starts with a pick-up at the hotel by 4wd. You get helmets to wear and get into the Argos vehicle at a parking place some 20 minutes from the hotel. You then go on a trip over a footpath (!!). You get to see cheerful people walking the path you're driving on, and it doesn't get any better... More

I enjoyed our potentially rainy day alternative in the comfort of a six-passenger 4WD van. The road was rough, and the hike was challenging for some in our group with knee problems. The views from the top were worth it to see the Tasman Lake formed over the last fifty years as the glaciers retreat, and see the ice bergs... More

Took a morning trip with Argo Tours. The vehicle was amusing and a little different for the kids, but it was nothing more than a quick trip up a gravel track, stopping midway for a short hike up to see the Glacier from a distance and then back down the gravel track. This track can be accessed by a private... More

Our Nepalese guide was excellent .. good sense of humour and took our photos. The views were amazing as were the meadows of flowers. However ... the vehicle is tight if you have six adults, 2 in the front and 4 in the back. You struggle to get two normal sized adults in the front seats. The whole trip is... More

The experience was enhanced by the friendly and knowledgeable guide, Graham. In a relatively short time we were able to see a great range of scenery and learn about the the flora and fauna if the area. The trip involved a short, but steep walk, which was well worth doing for the great view. Highly recommended.

Outstanding This is one trip you should not miss no matter what your age. Our driver had a wonderful sense of humour and was very knowledgeable. Mum is older and her knees aren't great, but he managed to get her in and out of the Argo and she had a great time. My husband and I walked up the moraine... More

The Argo Tours are along on what is only a rough, stony, dirt road, deep into the mountains. The ride is in a small, eight wheeled vehicle. You get to see, from afar, the Tasman glacier. Take into advice the following : a - They tend to cram six persons into the vehicle. Very unconfortable. The ideal is one to... More
