My friend and I stopped by there today and had lunch and split a bottle of wine and had lunch. The wine was terrific, the food was delicious, and the views were gorgeous. After lunch, we wanted to stay and split another bottle of wine. After placing our order, the manager came up to us holding the bottle we had... More

We've sampled many and we can honestly say that the house platter is the best vineyard platter we've ever had. Lovely wine, too. Great setting and beautifully warm.

We have been twice before. Visited this time with 6 month old daughter and for the birthday of 93 year old Grandmother. Staff went out of their way to accommodate including last minute cake and candle AND a bottle of wine for Grandmother as a surprise gift as she left. Excellent wine, food and atmosphere. Worth the drive from ChCh.... More

We had lunch here a few weeks ago. I knew we were in trouble when I read the menu. Despite this being a wine region, the pickings for lunch & dinner are slim. We knew we would have difficulty finding somewhere else, though in retrospect, we should have driven to the nearest country town and bought a toasted sandwich and... More

Had a excellent Sunday lunch up at Waipara Hills. Hadn't been here for about 5 years and found the menu greatly improved. All our meals came cane out quickly and we found ourselves sharing a bit of each other's. Look forward to returning again in the future.

Waipara Hills has one of the largest tasting rooms in the area and offers a smooth tasting experience similar to that in Napa Valley - they offer enough varieties of the same grape to have a horizontal tasting, and doesn't rush you or get stingy with glasses. The ordering process was smooth and pleasant. The restaurant was good - service... More

We stopped for a short break and decided to have breakfast there. Just a small meal can be a delight: the poached egg was fresh and tasty, the sausage spicy, the bacon delicious and the hash brown crispy. Everything was well made.
