Onto the funicular. Get dropped off near the summit. Views from here are spectacular. But are you up for the summit? Easy in the summer but great fun in the winter. Conquer the ice and snow and there is a view to rival Everest! Ok a little bit lower but still stunning and I had to be brave to get there.
Honestly - don’t miss it even if you stay by the station.

The Lusen is one of the most spectacular summits of the Bavarian Forest.
If you take the "Winterweg" you just have to overcome 400 m of altitude. There are more ambitious routes to the summit, for example via the "Sommerweg". The Lusenwirt offers local meals and the view from the Schutzhaus is amazing. If the conditions are fine, you can see the Alps.
