Marble Caves of Carrara diferents caves located in this well-known city, not so far from Pisa, in Italy. We came here to visit any of the caves and we could enter in two of them: Cantera di Colonata, a real cave at free-air, where you can see, where the marble stones are extracted since Roman Period. Very interesting place for history-lovers and scientist-lovers. Also, after we visited in a guided tour the Cantera di Fantiscritti, where you enter in a real cave and you can see it, while a guide explain us the place. So different, so interesting. It was bizzare feeling getting there. We had enjoying our trip in Land Rover with Mr Big (funny and crazy). On the other hand looking at the mountains that are so broken is rather sad. Maybe it's good to go there and see how is damage is a human for nature...

On the flight to Italy we watch a move about Michelangelo and got inspired to visit a marble quarry. I was surprised to find a Viatour outing that fit our plan perfectly. This seems to be very popular with European tourist and there were several jeeps on the tour with us. No one we had spoken to that had been to Tuscany had ever mentioned seeing this sight- well worth it- First it's in the north of Tuscan and a different terrain and landscape, and seeing how marble is quarried now and in the time of Michelangelo was really a unique opportunity. On the way, stop in the town of Pietrasanta which is an artist workshop area and a lovely town.…
