Mykonos's 15th-century Paraportiani is perhaps the most photographed church in Greece's Cycladic islands--looking much like a huge mound of sunlit marshmallows topped by a jumbo white cherry. It stands between the bays of Tourlos and Korfos on the outer edge of a jut of land...More

Yes, there are many churches on Mykonos and each are unique and different. I think the location of this church and the design makes this a special church. It's actually several churches combined. It's easy to locate when in the old town and the views...More

Reportedly the oldest church on the island, Panagia Paraportiani Byzantine church was started in 1425 and finished in 17th century. You cannot go inside. There must be at least a couple dozen churches downtown and all of them are interesting.

The design is interesting but there are numerous small churches in this town, like every street corner.

We only took a photo of this church. It is beautiful, but in Mykonos town itself are plenty of small churches and some of them has deep pink bouganvillas which makes stunning photos.

One of the most famous and most photographed churches on Mykonos is the Church of Our Lady of the Side Gate. This Greek Orthodox church dedicated to the Virgin Mary is very unique. Construction of thee two-story church is an asymmetrical blending of four churches...More

Worth the stroll by to see the architecture of this church. The church was not open to see inside....which was a bit of a disappointment.
