Despite some reviews to the contrary, the main archaeological museum in Corfu town remained closed as of 11th May 2017 and there is still no indication as to when it might reopen.

Despite slightly misleading reviews below, the archaeological museum has been closed for some time for renovation. It is well over schedule and sadly there is still no anticipated date for its opening at this time. :( A another victim of the crisis.

Nice, clean, well lit. Excellent signage and cheap to get in. Nice for a rainy day or when then heat is oppressive.

Many coins, artifacts and statuary from ancient Greece and also Roman remains. It is a small museum, cheap entry fee and much to see.

Several people we met made the journey to this museum only to find it closed. Some people had the same experience last year. There is no readable explanation and the site looks tired and a bit desolate. Someone in the local government needs a good...More
