Worth the boat trip, very pretty, although rather touristy - what else would it be? We stayed long enough for lunch and a walk round.

The boat ride across to the island is enjoyable and the palazzo and gardens are beautiful. It is a lovely way to spend a few hours and would recommend it.

Absolutely stunning ,both the palazzo and the gardens. The grottoes are amazing. Regular ferries to and from Stresa. Excessive number of cheap touristy stalls, but easily avoided.

We took a private taxi to the island and arrived for the opening which was great as we missed the well known crowds that would descend later in the day. We toured the castle and gardens leisurely. The white peacocks in the gardens stole the...More
