This site is remarkable. The footsteps were made by a sauropod dinosaur during the Middle Jurassic period - 175 million years ago. The sauropod has a heavy body, a long tail, a small head and a very long neck, they weighed 70 tons. The tracks are significant because they are the oldest and longest set yet to be found There... Small entrance fee of 3 euros. Nice location with great viewpoints over quarry and landscape. Basic information about the site and dinosaurs is provided along a nice mile-long walk. I would have loved it as a child (I did too though today, the adult I am)!

This place is located inland away from the tourist in a disused quarry, there is a small fee about €6 to get in. On the day we visited there was a small school party and us for the whole hour we were there. There is a set route around the quarry if you want to walk it, i would recommend... More

Pros: There are dinosaur footprints. Lots. You can touch them, stand in them, take selfies with them and try to wrap your mind around the idea that the animal in question passed on that spot hundreds of millions of years ago. Cons: If you come during the summer, it will be hot. We followed the clerk's advice and came at... More

Thirty members of International Women in Portugal, Cascais, enjoyed a very informative tour of the monument on Saturday before proceeding to Tomar for lunch and a tour of the castle/convent to make for a very enjoyable, interesting day. We had an excellent guide who spoke a good level of English and needed little help from our fluent Portuguese speaking members.... More

Large park with nice views where you can see dinosaur footprints. Close to Fatima, but you need a car to get there. If you are disabled, can not walk or have physical limitations do not visit the park. You need to be able to walk a long distance in order to get the best of the park. Great for young... More

Would be an ideal visit for families, and even as an older couple very interesting. As you first proceed round the top of the quarry you struggle to make out the tracks, but then at the far end all can be seen.

Super fascinating place to visit. Easy to find but careful-on the trip advisor map its marked wrongly in the middle of nowhere but in reality its in Barrio, perhaps check the address first before you go. The trial has 1,5 km and is easy if you have no health issues. The footprints are just magnificant. First you see it from... More

This is a great place to visit, not only for children but adults also. A leisurely walk with plenty of information and viewing points across the site itself. The views into the valley are amazing. It isn't easy to find, as it is in the middle of nowhere. Make sure you have enough petrol in your tank, just in case...!!!... More
