Visited this pilgrimage site with many other pilgrims and was very impressed with the cleanliness of the entire site which was also vast and had several religious buildings to visit in peace and comfort. The procession of the Statue of Our Lady of Fatima late in the evenings was a joy to behold and participate in. Made me feel humble... More

Our first time in being here and not disappointed at all. We took the express bus from Lisbon which was handy enough. On arrival in Fatima it's a comfortable walk of <>10min to the Basilica open area. Great experience and loved every minute of the trip. Some great tea houses along the way The bus journey in itself is worth... More

As religious buildings go in regards to archetecture this place was quite disappointing, there are many more spectacular places nearby towns. I think you have to be a practising religious person to truly get the most out of this place. There are more modern structures here than old ones. Surrounding the sanctury there are many shops selling religous artifacts.

This is the parish church of Fatima, it is where the 3 children went to Mass and where they were baptised. Some people have reviewed it as if it were the sanctuary, which it is not. It is about 10 minute drive from the Sanctuary. There is a little shop to the right of the altar, pay a visit and... More

I too am not a Catholic but I felt a certain "Spirit of Place". The vista of two contrasting Basilicas facing each other across the extensive concorse was stunningly beautiful. I particularly liked the interior of the new Basilica ~ a place of peace and ideal to spend a few quiet moments for reflection

I am not Catholic so did not expect to be as moved as I was by the basilica and story of Fatima. The story of the 3 children is both beautiful and sad. The basilica is large, but feels very welcoming and sacred. An outdoor Mass was being celebrated in German while we were there.

Built on the spot where 3 shepherdesses saw the Virgin Mary. The bodies of these 3 people are buried there. This church is massive and designed on the basilica in Rome. Millions of pilgrims visit each year

The old basilica is having a facelift but the new one is stunning. As a non practising Christian the interior left me speechless with wonder, very emotional.

This is the place that you'll want to visit because it is where mass is celebrated in pretty much all languages and is simply nice to view where the children are laid to rest. If you search for the Sanctuary of Fátima in wikipedia, you'll be able to read more.

I had no expectations but was surprisingly very moved by the whole thing. I have heard others say there is a very special feeling about the Shrine at Fatima, and I would have to agree. Very impressive.
