It might be a little bit far off but nevertheless it was worth it! It's a picturesque and peaceful place, you can explore the church and monastery buildings or just walk around the olive grove. The Limoncello crafted by the monks is one of the best I've ever had so give it a try!

It is a beautiful place - silent and relaxing. You can walk through the ancient abbey, enjoying the view of the place as well as lake Como. The shop is so nice, with all kinds of sweets and remedies made by the monks and nuns of the Cisticern order. In my next time around Italy it will be a must... More

the way to the abbazia is very nice , country side way tour, its nice in sunny day but I prefer a autumnal atmosphere or early spring as there is some water on walls and plants . the abbazia is very ancient and has a internal yard with column arraund .

Big abbey (mostly close to the general public) on a promontory in the northernmost part of Lake Como. Great views, beautiful but largely impenetrable woods, peace and a nice old church and cloister. It can be reached by boat or by car and if you like walking you can park right outside the first gate and walk along the road... More

A very small and peaceful abbey near Colico that you find at the end of a long, narrow dirt road. It's a very calm place and a nice visit for about an hour.

The satnav we had on the car didn't recognize the abbey and sent us down two dead ends so I suggest you take care on how to get here. There are also a few km of driving down fairly narrow and twisty roads to arrive at the abbey. The abbey church dates from around 1100 and is in the Romanesque... More

This abbey is characteristic: very nice location on the lake and nice church. The shop is also interesting: there they sell honey, alcoholic drinks and other products prepared by the monks. Every Sunday there is the mass.

My wife and I visited the Abbazia many times in the course of our life, as a couple first and as a family afterwards. It is a mistic place, when you can really feel the spiritual dimension where the monks live their busy but contemplative lives. In the past there was a small shop where you could buy their home... Although there is not a lot to see here, it offers fantastic views over Lake Como and simple monastic buildings in a lovely garden setting. The abbey church is simple with an attractive painted area over the altar and the adjacent cloisters are small but beautiful too. There was no admission fee but you can buy produce from the monastery... More
