National Guard were the drivers of the landing craft for the Normandy Beach invasion. These service men made numerous trips back and forth from their ships to shore. I was so proud to see this memorial for the National Guard.

This monument is the centrepiece for Omaha Beach and, while small, is very imposing up close. A must visit location in Normandy. 1821 OOS
