Finding here was a bit tricky. I have been using google maps with an 85% success rate when downloaded offline, and here was an exception. When you see the butterfly sanctuary, take an immediate sharp right, instead of following the road to the right, easy to miss! Slightly well less paved. If not you will drive up and down a... More

The best time to visit the place is during Holy Week, this time faith healers are gathered here for the Healing Festival. There are also souvenir items sold in the place.

Around Cang-apa, you will find the crossing to Butterfly garden. Take the paved road uphill to the right, the opposite direction than to the Butterflies. Continue uphill and you will first find an area, inviting visitors to take a picnic (no clue why anyone would sit down there, everything is damaged and waste is spread everywhere). Continue even further until... More

We hiked the easy way, not the path with the 12 stations of the Cross and climbed the tower to enjoy the view. Alas the trees has growned too tall to get a 360 degree view but we certainly enjoyed the fine wx and the the sound of the crickets. A nice reason to hike in the forest.

We eventually found Mt Bandila-an after several days of unsuccessful but enjoyable attempts. Worth it for the views (although the treetops could do with trimming as the views from the tower were occasionally blocked by leaves!) and the cool shady winding mountain roads you travel to get there.

Our friend guide took us here not knowing what we were about to do. She told us we'd be trekking up to the mountain. There's a pathway to get up and it could get a little steep so just take your time. The place is also where pilgrims go during Holy week. There are stations of the cross along the... More

We got lost on our way here! We weren't even sure where we are since I don't have 3G signal for my phone's maps. We asked people along the way where the park is and they say just go straight and follow the road. We did find a decrepit sign that with the park name but didn't find any entrances.... More

Great views from the top of the mountain. Best scooter ride on the island, the scenery is really pretty.

My girlfriend and I decided to walk together with a group of.locals which organized a walk to the mountain to the opening of the Faith Healing festival. We walked 10 km from the tennis court to the top and it was a great experience to be surrounded by nature and at every stop we had coconut water and we would... More
