Beautiful canyon by motorboat. Unfortunately we had a Spanish-only speaking guide but that was not the guide's fault. He was telling a lot (in Spanish) about the area and stopping lots of places for photos and just looking at the beautiful nature and animal life.

If you go to Chiapas, you MUST go the cañón del sumidero, NO EXCEPTIONS! First, not only is this sight beautiful on the way thru the canon but all the nature encountered (black Chiapas monkey, alligators etc) is amazing. Visiting the sight: the sight is...More

Entering Chiapa de Corzo, tour boat guides will often connect with you to help you get to the river and into a boat tour. There are more than one tour service and more than one starting point (they may tell you differently). Have your camera...More

It is nice and affordable, you can do Chiapa de Corzo (the historic center) and el cañon del sumidero the same day.

Boattrip lasted for two hours. Beautiful scenery. Too bad there's a lot of plastic and other garbage in the water! We did a tour combined with Chiapa di Corso. If you can, skip this. Nothing special to see.

The canyon is absolutely breathtaking and it really leaves an impression when observed from a boat. Apart from some interesting rock formations (notably Arbol de Navidad) there was also a lot of wildlife to spot (crocodiles, wild monkeys, pelicans) and there was always something to...More

After reading many reviews, was reluctant to go. Glad I went -- absolutely beautiful!! Tour guides are friendly and helpful. During the tour our guide would give us info about the park and canyons. Also allowed us to take in the views without a lot...More

Did the speedboat trip up the canyon & although quite fun it really was not the ideal transport to view the beauty of the place. Only saw one sad crocodile on a bank surrounded by loads of rubbish & plastic bottles. Saw a few birds...More
