I Needed a Kayak
Mar 2021
I was driving down on Route 102 to see the Caribbean Sea.
Joyuda has a tiny island named Isla de Ratones.

Cute little place to dock your boat
Jul 2019
Cool little island. If you can find a spot in the small beach is a great place for camping and relaxing. Just use your anchor, there's no facilities but some rusted poles. But cool place.

Good but you need to catch a boat
Jun 2018 • Family
Nice little key good when you have kids. The only thing is that to catch the boat (price of the boat ride is fine) you have to be there really early.

Nice Little Key
Jun 2018 • Family
Nice little key. Boat ride is really short and cheap. Nice area to visit with kids. Really shallow and clear water.

Isla Piñero ( Isla de Ratones) Beatiful place to spend a quiet beach day
Jul 2017 • Family
Isla de Piñero is the real name of this little cay in the cost of Joyuda, Cabo Rojo Puerto Rico.( all nautical charts use this name as the official name for this cay) The locals named it "Isla de Ratones" as is it was a garbage dump which attracted rats and rodents. Since then this little cay has been cleaned of the garbage and the rat and mice population was eradicated from it.
Today is a beautiful spot to spend a nice beach day. The cost is very shallow. The trip to the island will cost you $5.00 and $1.00 per item in the boat (round trip). However, you can travel there via kayak or your own boat. The island is very close to the shore.
They have several gazebo's ( bohio's), bathroom, showers, and grilling areas. Also potable fresh water is available.
Off course bring all you need w you, including a trash bag, everyone must bring their trash back w them.
Snorkeling is below average. The waters around the key are very shallow, the deepest area in the pier about 15 feet deep at the top end. I snorkeled w my kids just to get in to the water.

fun little island
Feb 2017 • Couples
fun little island, easy to get to by boat taxi ($5 round trip plus $1 for cooler or large bag) there is a toilet and showers there. They do have sand fleas so either take a larger blanket or insect repellent if you're lying in the sand. A lot of garbage, not sure how often they pick up the trash. apparently a big party spot on weekends.

Little piece of paradise
Dec 2016 • Friends
We visited one morning, second week of December. This is just before tourist seams starts ramping up again so other than one other family, we had this little spot to ourselves. The snorkeling was not much, in comparison to other spots we have visited in PR. We did see a manatee and a tiger stripped ray. They have a rooed, not netted, are that has a Sandy bottom and depth only to your knees for a good distance, which makes it a great swim spot for kids to really enjoy swimming and not just splashing in waves that crash on shore. Of course there is a current, but you have to get our a ways in distance and depth to really feel it take you along. Definitely a spot we would bring our kids to in the future. Next time we will make use of their grill pits and showers. Adventure Tourmarien is who we used for a shuttle to and from the island.

Beautiful little "island"
Mar 2016 • Couples
Well kept and interesting place. Need to be taken but for $5 both ways it sure is a steal. Add $1 for each additional item. Has gazebos, trees to seat under, sand is sandy white and great for snorkeling.

We had a local take us out for snorkeling !!
Wild life workers keep the grounds clean, bathroom facility and picnic area. The reef is great and saw some really nice coral formations!!!
Some folks went out by kayaks, paddle boards.
It is worth the time 🐟🐠

Very Private and quiet
Dec 2015 • Friends
Private beach with quiet atmosphere, good for snorkeling and kayak. There is a local tour guide that will take you to the island for a really accesible fee. This beach is kids friendly.
