I was surprised how orderly and clean the market street was. There were also a couple beautiful wats on this street. Chinatown is also in this neighborhood. There are many shops selling volumes and volumes ( bulk) of kitchen utensils, towels, clothes, snacks-you name it to Laotians who visit to resell in their country. There are also interesting shops selling Buddhist statues and paraphernalia ( amulets and good luck charms), crafts made in Thailand, and other unique items. Nearby, try the “Good Mook” trendy cafe for delicious coffee and croissants. The upgraded vintage hotel, Riverfront, is in the perfect location to explore this area and it’s along the Mekong river promenade. It’s a nice quiet walk along the promenade going south away. Quaint bars and restaurants.

If you are staying in town and have an hour to kill, this is an interesting plave to do it. But I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to get here. The market stretches for blocks along the river. Dried foods, snack foods, some people selling sausage or coffee, but that's it for food. No street food to be had. Plenty of clothing, toys, tools, tacky souvenirs, and housewares, plus a few antiquities and other shops. Like I said, if you are here and have an hour to kill, come on by. But I would by no means think of this as a shopping destination.

The underground portion of the lengthy market has moved above ground due to relatively recent flooding of the Mekong River, blocking views of the famed river and Laos, and adding to pedestrian congestion. While the market might be worth a stroll, I'd suggest not making purchases of gadgets, luggage, shoes, etc. as the items in stock are often very old and tend to break rather quickly. At least that has been my experience several times in the past. (I live in Mukdahan Province.) Two temples along the market might be worth a look, and another temple, restaurants, and lodging exist just downstream from the market.

Plenty of variety, for shoppers and diners alike, here.
There is a relaxed vibe, free from the high pressure sales situations encountered in some other street markets that I have visited.
Interesting side streets and alleyways skirt the market, as well as beautiful temple.
I actually purchased a new 'man-bag' (see my YouTube) and it is going well ...
It is one of the best places to check out in Mukdahan. I will be back.

Nothing special to see. Many booths were closed, probably due to COVID. However, the market was disappointing- some household stuff, clothes, etc., but no street food or similar highlights. I haven’t even seen something particularly Indo-Chinese that would make this market special. There is another market in Mukdahan that is much, much better and worth a visit.

A medium sized market that runs alongside the Mekong river which separates Thailand and Laos, part of the market is undercover in a walkway under the promenade. At street level other market traders also sell a wide variety of food and goods, mainly made locally or in the neighbouring countries, some bargains can be had if your prepared to do a bit of friendly haggling.
Just the other side of the road are more shops and a few small eating places and one large hotel which overlooks the river.
Parking can sometimes be a problem particularly at weekends or public holidays, but is usually free if you park on the street.

Visited the market last Sunday. It is mainly undercover and easy to get around. There is a great to see and buy. The prices are very good. Lots of clothes etc but great local crafts and materials as well. It is well worth a visit if in Mukdahan.

There are a lot of construction in the area at present to fixed the damaged from flooded , so half of the shop (on the river side) has to sell merchandise on the pavement causing shopers as well as pedestrian to walk in the streete, at least another year or so.There are less people than earlier years due to economic, said many people. The merchandise ranging from snacks, preserved fruits, dried fishes to clothing, household gadgets, tools, knick knacks, etc., almost everything but I question about the quality and freshness, many items come from China or elsewhere such as Vietnam. Some are local made (clothing). You should have some knowledge about things you are going to buy , i.e how to look for a good quality one, and what is the right price. You can shop around to get a glimpse of the price first because many shops offer the same kind of goods but different price tag. This market use to be more popular than today when everyone can buy everything on line which has the same or even better quality without having to get out of the house themselves. Plus there are so many market just like this almost in every tourist distination province, whether it be up north in Chiang mai, downsouth in Hadyai and Phuket, NorthEast in Nongkhai and others. You can and should bargain with all vendors.

Well worth a visit if your in the area.
Mukdahan is a mix of Traditional Thai with Lao influences.
I had been here in Mukdahan for 5 weeks before I went to the market, I parked down by one of the river hotels (The da Ladda, there are car parks around the market either end next to some temples but I only found that out by walking around) where some colleagues where staying. A short walk along the river and your there.
Its basically one street full of shops and booths either side of the road and some off shoots.
I was not hassled once to buy anything, thats refreshing they just say hello and let you look, if you ask the Thai people do their best to help.
The market is full of what you come to expect from a Thai market, Some good stuff but like most markets around the world mostly cheap rubbish that you never knew you wanted.
But saying that You can find some decent items. If any one has been to Camden Market then you will see similarities .... (same same but different ).
The plus point is really friendly. as you would expect from Thailand.
I spent around 3 hours just ambling about .....

This market is the same as most others in Thailand, Lots of cheap and tacky items for sale at the shops. Their will be some bargains for you if you need this stuff on sale.Food clothes toys and much other items on view.
