What a beautiful and peaceful place to visit while in Italy...i visited Cascia with my friends...Inside the basilica is the relic of Ste Rita and even you can visit the convent where Ste Rita used to live, the grape , the room...everything is touching.

What a beautiful basilica. Went to mass and I was totally enamored and emotional of this church. The feeling was wonderful and I had a sense of peace. Not to be missed

Unfortunately, renovation work was going on in the Basilica while we visited. However the most important was that the relic of Santa Rita was still visible.

Been my dream and on my bucket list for long time to visit Santa Rita in Cascia. And god I'm so glad I did. The basilica is so beautiful the moment you step inside you feel so calm and peaceful as if there is nothing to worry about at all.

Saint Rita is well known saint in Lebanon and all over the world. I felt soooooo blessed to visit her. It was a dream for me. In addition to the spiritual visit, Cascia is a spectacular village. Such beautiful scenes.

The Basilica was undergoing some roof works at the time of our visit but remained an incredible building. It's free to enter but the true reason people come is to venerate St Rita whose preserved body lies in a shrine behind an open screen. This place has A special significance to Catholics although anyone can enjoy the architecture and stunning... More

Two saints in Umbria are well known, St Franics and St Benedict but a third is Santa Rita who lived in Cascia. Cascia is not far from Norcia and is a place of pilgrimage for many Italians, situated in the besutiful mountains that inspire meditation and reflection. The Basilica is accessed up multiple flights of stairs or with the escalator... More

To reach basilica of Santa Maria from Rome, you should take the bus from Tiburtina bus station (can be reached by metro). The bus leaves at 7:30 am and needs 3 hours to reach the Basilica. It returns back to Rome at 3 or 3:30 depending on the schedule. You therefore have a couple of hours to spare. Personally we... More
