If you're in the area this is a 'must do' as the walk across this historic bridge provides superb views up and down the river and at the two towns on either side.

My wife and I took a guided walking tour in mid-August 2017 of Tournon and Tain L’ Hermitage. These small towns are on opposite sides of the Rhone river. To get across, we took a historic foot bridge. The bridge spanning the Rhone river is...More

This is a nice pedestrian suspension bridge connecting the two cities on either side of the Rhone. It is a nice walk in the evening and a good place to people watch as it was fairly busy each time we walked over it.

Local .marc Seguin invented the suspension bridge(and also the multichamber steam engine-see local train over gorge) it dates to mid 1800s and is quite amazing piece of engineering. Open to pedestrians only. As others said squeamish should not look down between planks!

What an amazing old bridge! Built in the mid 1800's by Marc Seguin, this suspension bridge is one of the oldest still in use. If you have the chance, you should walk the full distance from Tournon to Tain-l'Hermatige and appreciate the views of the...More

After dining on the river boat we decided to cross the bridge to L'Hermitage to get wine and chocolate. The walk was pleasant, the town was compact and had a good selection of wine and chocolate shops to keep my wife happy.

Really worth walking over the bridge not only to marvel at the structure but to take in the view either side of the Rhone!!

Ok it's a little more than just a bridge, I think it's one of the earlier suspension bridges over the Rhone, it joins both banks of the river, it provides some nice photography opportunities and it's something to do in the town of Tournon. If...More
