The "Bummelzug Wildschoenau", a slow road train, brings you during the summer daily to the beginning of the "Kundler Klamm", a beautiful gorge in the Tyrolean mountains with a magnificent natural landscape. The walk through the gorge is easy and a perfect destination for hikers of all ages. Even for strollers the track is no problem.

Great area for a stroll between oberau and Niederau. Look out for the trout in the river as you go, even when there is almost no water in there, and the statues are interesting.

The Bummelzug (one road train, think 'dressed-up tractor pulling carriages) connects with the Bummelbahn (the other local road-train) in the village of Muehltal, and it's a pleasant 20 minute ride to the entrance of the gorge, which is well worth exploring. Then you can return...More

It's called a train but really it's a tram without rails. It scarcely goes any faster than you can walk. It's not very comfortable and it's a bumpy ride. But still it's a fun way to get to the absolutely wonderfull Kundler Klamm Gorge and,...More

We walked from Muehltal through the gorge and back to the rest stop. The Bummelzug was a welcome sight taking us back to the village (it is all uphill).

We used this way of getting round the valley on our recent visit to Niederau. It is an efficient way of getting around with hourly pick-ups. It is not the most comfortable ride ever and can be rather smelly from the Land Rover exhaust so...More

It was only on our 6th trip to the Wildschonau that we took the slow train to the Kundl Gorge. Don't forget to use your visitor card for a discount and a wonderful walk awaits you.

There are loads of organised free walks which are good. Highly recommend the electric mountain bike morning on a Wednesday bootable from the tourist office next to the outdoor pool - it was €40 including the bike and was... More
