Highly interesting worth the visit

We appreciated the time out to visit the church and take a look around and enjoy the peace and quiet. Not to be passed by.

We had always driven through Altea and not quite got to the old town...what a great surprise, absolutely charming. Lots of places to park and charming small streets. The Plaza is charming with lots of choice for bars and restaurants. The views over the coast are well worth a visit. It was busy in the summer but that adds to... More

You have to climb up very steep narrow streets to get here , but it is worth the effort. It is located in a square ; it is very picturesque. When we visited there wasn't a Mass , so we were able to look around inside. Very impressive.

The church is in the middle of the Old town of Altea. The strees leading to it (from every part actually as it is located in a square) are picturesque and pleasant, full of small shops worth looking into. The church is impressive and masses are held until late at night (8 p.m.) Deffinetly worth attending. Unfortunately no air conditioning... More

Not called this without a valid reason and it is beautiful. Very charming and traditional and steep. The walk however is worth it and you are rewarded with fine views, good restaurants and a beautiful church, which was open on our 4th visit.

Narrow cobbled streets that wind up to the square and a church that is quite stunning inside (if you can get in!) Slightly reminiscent of Gibraltar with hoses crammed up the steep slopes, virtually no parking except at the bottom. Come early for dinner and enjoy a walk round the quality shops at the bottom, the little jewellery and clothes... More

A lovely old Church surrounded by excellent eating places and Tapa Bars, you can visit inside the Church which was really lovely and worth the steep climb to arrive there.

This is a very beautiful place with lots of little artisan shops and crafts. Lovely area to wonder round and soak up the atmosphere but if you have mobility issues it may be a challenge.

We thought we would come and have a look at both the Church with the blue roof and the night market at the some time on a Saturday night. The market is located right next to the church and has some interesting stalls so was worth combining the 2 - plus seeing the church light up in the evening was... More
