A must visit is the old town of the coastal town Altea. Cobbled little streets lead up to the church square or the Plaza de la Iglesia. In the evening the square is lit up by thousands of little lights and the caffe's serve chilled...More

Worth the climb up the hill through the lovely quaint streets of the old town to see the churches. Really nice square at the top with bars and restaurants

The Church and the walk up to it is like a walk through historic Spain. Narrow streets with artisan shops and cubblestone. The view from the top, overlooking Altea and Benidorm is magnificent. The Square outside the Church offers many nice restaurants.

It is impossible to overlook the blue domes of the church which is in the middle of the old town on a hill. But believe, the climbing uphill by cobbled streets of the old town also provides a great aesthetic satisfaction.

This is lovely place to wander round and lose yourself in the small streets. Stop off and have a meal or a drink and meander through the streets and shops. Wonderful.

A beautiful church, well worth the climb up to admire both the inside and the outside of the church. We got off the number 10 bus from Benidorm at the last stop, and just walked in the direction of the church, still a steep climb,...More

Great little town to wander around and take in the beautiful sea views from the top. Strong smell of urine at the top meant we couldn't hang around very long buts its worth a visit to see the church.

This domed beauty sits atop the old town of Altea and is a must-see. The church dominates the landscape and lures tourists from all over the world. Pop in for a bit of peace - and maybe a prayer - away from the throng.

A truly amazing and perhaps somewhat exhausting climb up the thousands of steps winding around the narrow streets which are beautifully decorated with overhanging shrubbery and roses. There are numerous shops and bars along the way. Once you arrive at the Parroquia Nuestra Senora Del...More

Yes you can get a taxi to it. There is a small taxi rank quite close(just before) the 222 steps up the hill, which makes the worthwhile trip to the church with all the restaurants really easy on your legs.
