Tour Barberousse is a tower located in the center of a little fish town in Mediterranean Sea, in the South of France. Really views of the town with this tower in the middle are wonderful. Also, it is possible to walk in the old streets and go up to the tower, from where you can see very nice views of the town, the sea and the surroundings. Authentic! Very recommendable.

The vew from the top is absolutely fantastic The climb up there may be a challenge for the over 70 if not in reasonable shape but it realty is worth the effort even in a strong wind. The photos speak louder than words!

Free to enter with little more than half a tower at the top but the short scramble does reward you with good views out to sea and over the etang. Not mind-blowing but its the higest point for miles around.

We had a hard time finding the path to actually get up to the tower. I think we did a complete circle of the town/tower trying to find a way up. When we finally did it was definitely worth the short climb. The views were magnificent. You could see the lagoon, the towns and the mountains in the distance.

The views from the top are well worth the effort. It’s a surprisingly short, yet steep climb. Uneven path but good hand rails for support. We walked from the marina which was a lovely 30 minute walk, highly recommend. As you approach the ‘tour’ you take a left which is gated (it looks closed but it isn’t) it is open nearly all day all year from what I read. Super views albeit a little windy.

Whilst appearing high up this does not actually take a long time to climb. However the steps are uneven as mainly just rocks, some of which are shiny and therefore slippy and it can be hard to get your footing. Lovely views of the town and sea from the top and good photo opportunity.

Don’t be put off by the shirt sharp climb because the view of the Gruissan circulade, surrounding sea and salt water étangs is spectacular! And it’s free - don’t miss it!

Not for the faint hearted - this climb is steep! Which actually makes the top even more breath taking. Plus its for free....how often do you find that!

This [free] visit was more interesting than we expected. The panoramic views are superb and we took some great photos.
There is also a small display with the history of Gruissan which we found very interesting.

Désolée madame, je parle couramment italien mais l'ordinateur ne comprend rien et me dit que j'emploie une grossièreté !! Ce qui n'est pas le cas du tout. J'ai voulu répondre en italien mais on me refuse l'envoi !! Dommage!!!
