This place is not easy to find nor it is a place for young children or the elderly. The walk takes up to seven hours roundtrip and it's on the slopes of a mountain. Find an experienced guide. We planned a trip of the Arno River by bicycle this summer. We wanted to start from the spring, or Capo d'Arno. When we arrived in Stia we noticed there wasn't a single sign about Capo d'Arno. The next day we went to the office of the park service in Pratovecchio and the lady directed us to the website and gave us some general brochures about the park. She had never been to the trail and could not tell us where it started. She gave us the phone number of another office. A lady there told us we had to take the road to Passo della Calla and we would find signs along the road. She didn't sound like she had ever been there either. We asked people on the street and everyone knew the place was close but no one had bern there in recent times or ever. Finally, we contacted a guide service where we were told we should have made reservations in advance. So we took the road to Passo della Calla, where we arrived five hours later. No sign of the trail to Capo d'Arno.
