A small country church with the most beautiful hand painted walls and ceiling. A must see. The church bell from the 1200s is inside. It cracked and was replaced.

This is a lovely village church that is worth a visit. It is all wood, with wonderful and very old artwork on the walls along with an old bell dating to the 13th century. The interior is painted and radiates warm village life.

Ulvik was destroyed by the Germans during the Second World War but, fortunately, this lovely church and its graveyard were spared. Outside is the touching monument to a famous Norwegian poet who was from Ulvik. With its view of the fjord and mountains, it is...More

Dating from 1859 this white wooden church among gravestones is in a peaceful setting within town and close to fjord. The interior is a real surprise and painted in a variety of colours and styles. Very old pews, colourful nave, balcony seating and chandeliers -...More

We expected to spend only a matter of minutes in this church, but upon entering that soon changed! It is a beautiful interior with characteristic Norwegian rose painting throughout and some other points of interest, particularly the bell. Make sure to read the information about...More

We visited Ulvik Church in the summer of 2012 when our Holland America Line cruise ship moored up there for a day. I'd say paid a 'port of call' visit, but that rather overstates the case as Ulvik's 'port' is actually a hotel's jetty -...More

Just a small village church with a lot of history and worth a visit when staying in Ulvik. I has some very old pictures [one a reproduction as the original has been moved to a museum in Bergen].
