Walked all the way round the lake, takes about 2 hours. Beautiful scenery and is good for dogs and kids.

Took us a while on the small country lanes from Windermere but lovely walks around the lake and not too many tourists. More serious walkers. Worth the visit

Not so sure if there is any bus service to buttermere. Didn't see any bus there tbh. Everyone actually go there with their own car or 4WD.
