San Quirico was the closest city to Agritourisimo I’ll Rigo where we stayed. It has a pleasant downtown which is partly pedestrian. There are a number of restaurants in various price ranges. Also has gas and a COOP grocery store that came in handy. The...More

A very walkable town with shopping and restaurants within the walled city. It is very impossible to find parking however and this can be frustrating as the day goes on...later when most tourists leave it ya much easier. Restaurants are plenty and better too in...More

Quieter and more friendly than Monte--no and Pienza, plenty of shops and good restaurants. Views from town of the countryside are one notch down from Montepulciano. Walk to Bagno Vignoni.

Autumn has already come in San Quirico d’Orcia. It’s a very small town, but beautiful and quiet. The church is one of my favorites in Italy. Enjoy your drive, seeing a panoramic view in Val d’Orcia.

We parked for free (didn't notice a fee box) in the Via dei Fossi public parking lot outside of the town walls, and walked up into the centro storico. It was so empty! To be fair, we were visiting at the end of August when...More

If travelling through the Val d'Orcia then this is a great stop off for refreshments and provisions. Over the years tourism has crept in with shops being replaced with Wine bars, but it is still a lovely base to explore the surroundings.

There were five of us so we had a good sample from the menu. Two folk were vegetarians and very well catered for. I had the zucchini stuffed with locally raised beef and it was fantastic. Had a great Montepulciano wine with lovely service. All...More

We came across this charming little town as we were staying at Podere Il Tigliolo (see my separate review under Castiglione d'Orcia). Located on the ancient pilgrim route from Canterbury to Rome (the Via Francigena) it is one of a number of such places in...More

This is a quiet but quaint beautiful medieval village with top notch but affordable restaurants and wonderful views. Several old churches, lovely Italian gardens, lots of interesting shops. Well worth a stop, and even in the height of tourist season, not crowded -- unlike any...More

I'm sorry, but I don't know. We had a car so it wasn't anything we looked into. Good luck, and have a nice trip.
