Unique Experience in the Heart of Tuscany: Colle Val D'Elsa

3 reviews
Did you already visit the most famous destinations? Would you like to have a unique, fun and unforgettable experience in Tuscany?

I recommend you a day in Colle Val D'Elsa, a medieval village outside the tourist routes, but that has so much to say and show you... It is the birthplace of Arnolfo di Cambio, the Architect of Palazzo Vecchio and the Cathedral of Florence. Here Carlo Lorenzini, better known as Carlo Collodi, entered the seminary and he get the inspiration to write the famous novel of Pinocchio. It is also the most important town of Italy in the production of crystal. So why do not stop and enjoy a nice day between his shops, palaces, stories and markets?

While we were staying in Monteriggioni, Emily picked us up at our hotel and took us back to the farm where she rents an apartment. (It was Sunday, so there were no markets to visit.) After a tour of the farm, which included vineyards and fruit trees, we went to her apartment. She taught us to make several delicious dishes. It was a very hands-on class, though she had done some preparation in advance. We enjoyed the food we had prepared on her balcony, with a great view of Tuscany. She is originally from England, but has been living in Tuscany for several years. After the class, she shared her recipes with us. I highly recommend her cookery class. Judging from the quality of the food we prepared together, I'm sure meals she prepares as a private chef (for example, for people renting a villa in Tuscany) would be excellent.
