KVALSUND - where sea meets river and mountain. Kvalsund is a small municipality on the west coast of Finnmark, home to untouched, rugged landscapes, with a whole world of activities on the sea and fjord, lakes and rivers, valleys, hills and mountain plain. Kvalsund is also the perfect base for trips to Stabbursdalen and Seiland National Parks. One of Norway’s best salmon fishing rivers, Repparfjordelva, is close by in Skaidi. Skaidi – a meeting point for salmon fishers, outdoor enthusiasts and people staying in cabins. During the winter, this is the perfect spot for skiing, ice fishing and snowmobile excursions. Skaidi also has Finnmark’s largest ski resort. Population: approx. 1,100 Area, municipality: 1,850 km²

What more could you ask for in the middle of nowhere. Hard standing. Clean toilets and a shop and garage 30 metres away. This is a really good stop over especially if the weather has closed in as it is one of the few places...More
