This place was a really nice surprise. Several restored historical buildings that are chock full of heritage items and historical notes. Expected to spend 15 minutes here looking at buildings but ended up spending a couple of hours. The collection of artifacts is really a labour of love. It's in a beautiful setting too, on a quiet side road. Well... More

I was passing through the area so decided to pop in. The museum is chockful of all sorts of oddities. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, relating all sorts of interesting tidbits related to the history of the area.

I last visited this museum and grounds in 2014 with my plein air sketch and paint buddies. The buildings were locked at that time, but provided a good opportunity to sketch and draw the exterior of the buildings on the site.

A great little museum with four.. no make that five buildings and thousands of artifacts from the early days on St. Joseph island.

St Joseph Island museum is a must see for island visitors and locals. It is so full of historical data, family history and island memorabilia. The schoolhouse, the barn, the church, the town hall, the main building are all stocked full of items donated by families from the island. A very nice little countryside museum which gave an interesting picture of historic living conditions on this Island where maple syrup production is so important
