Definitely worth the hike to it. It does not take long to get there but it is a cool experience. Lots of history around it and more then just the lighthouse in the area to see. You can also swim there!

It was a disappointment after the long hike up the path to the lighthouse. It was not even a lighthouse it was a light atop a tower and the tower couldn't even be seen. The platform faced the water. Not worth to visit.

Absolutely amazing, historic, breathtaking, simply the best natural place to visit in Ontario! We enjoyed every minute of the 2hr drop off visit. Would love to visit again.

The Friends of Fathom 5 took over the care of the two lighthouse keeper's homes on the west side of Flowerpot Island. They've done a good job turning one into a museum and the other is used for their living quarters. If you want to find out what it was like tending a lighthouse on the Great Lakes, this is... More

The lighthouse itself is a 10 minute (??) walk from the light keeper's complex. The walk is narrow and not appropriate for wheelchairs, but it is on sidewalk. It is not a traditional lighthouse, since it has a 4-sided red and white column. The keeper's complex offers a small store, rocking chairs on the porch, and a great spot for... More

The island itself is beautiful, I really loved our visit. The lighthouse was ok, nothing special though.

We really enjoyed the visit to Flowerpot Island. We took a cruise over and spent about an hour and a half at the island and wish we could have spent the day. The island itself is great and the views are incredible. The lighthouse has a lot of history and it's great to see that it's still intact as well... More

The lighthouse on Flowerpot Island is a light tower which replaced the historic lighthouse that was torn down decades ago. Although it continues to serve a practical purpose to this day, it is not open to visitors despite having a hiking trail that leads there. A few hundred meters away from here, the lightkeeper's house was converted to a museum... More

It was a nice hike up to the lighthouse from the main path. Gorgeous views of the water and also a great lookout point!
