The entry fee is steep @ 10 MYR for what you get. Plenty of local info...not very much to see. But hey ten MYR ain't that much. I almost gave it a poor.

I guess the owner didn't pay the rental to that area. As the notice of closure due to unpayment was shown. Was kinda disappointed. Date: 22/08/2015

if you appreciate Architecture & History, this is the place! In fact it should be the FIRST venue to visit when you are in Taiping. It is a guided tour of the building to introduce the history of Taiping & the Many First.. They have temporary exhibits which will change every 4 months. Very well planned & interesting place. Bravo... More

Even though we arrived one hour before the closing time, we were guided around by our pretty young smiling guide, We learned a lot about Taping.. Please continue the good work and tell us more about the little stories behind the big one. All in all this was a pleasant experience. Thank you !

The first planned town in Malaysia, the first rail line, the first prison, the first book club, the first cycling club among many other first's in Taiping...... The First Galleria has it all on the history of Taiping... If you are fortunate to meet the Senior Curator and Founder, Anuar Isa , you'll understand his passion in setting up this... More

Taiping has been spared (for now) some of the insensitive over-development of other malaysian Towns. It has a legacy of wonderful historic buildings (some of which are now in danger). This museum, and education centre, tells the story of this historic legacy. The staff were excellent. The cafe was great, and the bookshop very interesting. Overall a highlight in our... More

Then you'll love this place. A knowledgeable tour guide took me around and answered all my questions. Plenty to see and learn and admire. The Kapitan Gallery houses exhibition that will be changed every 4 months so there's always something new to look forward to. The building is well-maintained and the gallery itself is well-curated. They also have a souvenir... More

Refreshing to see first real effort to maintain heritage ,exhibition notable for accurate tour guide ,clear explanations of taipings. origins as mining town, with subsequent British administration, all exhibits well preserved ,serves as a good introduction to town which sadly lacks effort to maintain many of interesting Chinese buildings of 19 th century apart from one other private museum
