Casa del Rilievo di Telefo is one of the largest buildings in the Herculaneum and thought to have belonged to the Roman senator, Marco Nonio Balbo. The lobby of the building is lined by colonnades on either side with Tuscan style columns. The house gets its name from the reliefs depicting the Greek myth of Telephus. The marble reliefs are displayed in-situ, but are fragmentary. The size of the house, level of restoration and reliefs makes it one of the best buildings to see.

Located in Herculaneum, Erclolano, this is part of a few great structures worth visiting at the site.

Situated over a number of floors (only ground can be visited) opposite the House of the Gem, the House of Release of Telephus named after a release situated on one of the walls with the myth of Telephus, son of Hercules, it is sure to amaze. This is one of my favourite spots in Herculaneum with real character and interest it still feels like a home. Be sure to check it out as the preservation of the columns and the relief are truly stunning!

We stopped in this place as part of our guided tour. And while I found it fascinating and was glad we visited, it would not be a priority compared to some of the other places on this campus.

This is one of the largest houses in Herculaneum on several floors (though only the ground floor can be visited) and with large gardens. The house is named for a stunning marble relief of Achilles with his mother Thetis treating the wound of the Mysian king Telephus. In the same room are three beautiful columns painted red, and a red and yellow panelled wall.
