At the moment this is an interesting limestone formation, with small ponds on the top, unspoiled in the countryside with a somewhat primitive restaurant near the bottom of the hill which serves good local food. But I imagine that in 5 years time there will be a hotel close to it and hordes of tourists everywhere. It is a strenuous... More

It a very beatiful place, but it doesn't worth almost 3 hours and half to go from Shangi-La (and 3 hours and half to come back).

Bus still departs at 9.10 in the morning from lijiang and goes back at 2.30p.m (25 each Way) Bus ride took 4 hours since it stops every 10km. Could be less if littler people.bus was cramed when we went . Time needed for terraces max 1 hour. Entry 30 rbm. Students 15. Lots of construction going on. It looked like... More

Just taking a ride to the Terraces was so beautiful and interesting culminating at this beautiful natural wonder. You need to hike around and take in the surrounding views -- just breathtaking!

It's an extra 2 hours taking the long scenic route from Tiger Leaping Gorge to Shangri-la. If the weather is good the drive is pretty scenic but it's true that the road can be winding in some stretches. We took about an hour to walk around the terrace. They are in the middle of construction and it looks like they... More

We visited Baishyitai on our way from Tiger Leaping Gorge to Shangri-la. It was somewhat interesting but it only takes about 30 minutes to see the pools and requires about 3-4 extra hours in the car to get here. I'm not sure this was worth the time invested in the drive (along with the crazy mountain roads along the way).

Best place I visited in shangrila. It's a whole day tour by car. Takes two and half hour from the city if you drive non stop. Roads are good and sceneries along the road are worth watching. But do not drop it for the distance or the last half hour climb to the top once you reach the place... Every... More

Baishuitai is beautiful and peaceful and worth visiting! What really made the trip though was the crazy bus ride.Roads winding through the mountains, picking up locals and never slowing down on turns makes you feel like you're living on the edge. If motion sickness is a problem this is not for you but if you want to see more of... More

It's in the middle of Lijiang and Shangri-la ! The white water terraces was beautiful. It was sunny this day, so it's help, but really amazing. Not many people. There is a hike about 1hour. You can walk all around, there is many terraces, and you can continue through the forest. But maybe you can be lost easily. If you... More

Its 3 scenic hours on the bus each way but makes for a very enjoyable day trip. Once you arrive a couple hours is plenty to see the limestone terraces and be back down by the ticket office to catch the bus back. Can even squeeze in lunch at one of the many restaurants near the ticket office if you... More
