Our favorite beach by far.... the sand, the weather, the water! Lunch on the beach, the beverages.... Amazing place to relax. You can't go wrong when you visit Playa Grande!

We spent a few hours here whilst on a Excursion and we loved it - such a beautiful long beach, golden sands, clear water, was very high waves when we went but we had an amazing time. You do get a few people approaching you trying to sell things but they are polite and if you say no they do... More

Playa Grande was two hours from where I was staying in Sosua. I took the opportunity to get a change of scenery and drove out to spend the day at a different beach. The water is beautiful but a bit rough, so it wasn't ideal for swimming. I enjoyed a nice fresh fish lunch and walk on the beach. The... More

This is nice and clean with some food vendors and also ideal if you want to see people since the other beaches are pretty empty.

We were here on two weekdays in February. There is a very sharp-looking parking area (eco paving, etc) which is free, though it is courteous to tip the men who will be watching your vehicle. There are modern bathrooms by the parking which were clean by Dominican standards... though a bit dirty by US standards. There is a path to... More

Great beach, not too crowded when we were there. Vendors and stands close by but not bothersome. We had lunch on the beach. Service (Ricky #24 server) was friendly, fast and helpful. Food was mediocre and overpriced as expected...Don't go for langostas (they are NOT lobsters). Not much to eat and a lot to pay! A nice place to visit. Great... More

This beach is the perfect blend of solitude and services. The beach is wide and powder soft from the tree line to the water's edge. Playa Grande looks like it's off a postcard or out of a shipwreck movie! You can partake of as much service or as little as you like. Bras have attendants are available to rent you... More

This beach is much better than Playa Sosua. Waves roll in making it easier and more fun to play in the surf or just hang out in the water. More sand to lounge in. Super soft sand!! You still get bothered by locals trying to sell you stuff, many are sneaky by just coming up and talking friendly and then... More
