This is an absolute “must do” for visitors to the island. We were a large family group and arrived on the hottest of days, and were given the warmest of welcomes by Myrta and family. I learnt so much about olive oil production, from how to identify different trees, to the rôle of horses and men in cultivation , and so much more. Myrta is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about this important work, it was fabulous to be given this unique opportunity to understand the entire process, to be served gorgeous treats including toast infused with this liquid gold and ice cream drizzled with it too. The tour is very comprehensive . Afterwards we were able to purchase hand made olive oil soap and of course olive oil . Myrta was so kind to us, in every way, she also guided us back to the main road in her truck, our age range was 22 months to 79 years .It was so wonderful to be in nature in one of the most beautiful places in Lesvos, and to meet the family behind the production of what can only be described as the best olive oil in the world.
This is something not to be missed as it’s a working situation, there are museums on the island depicting olive oil production , but I think our time was better spent entering the miraculous world of Eirini Plomariou. We truly hope to return . Thank you.

We just had a wonderful time on the Olive Tour arranged by and with Myrta at Eirini Plomariou Olive Oil. It started with a very informative talk as we walked around the olive grounds and mill where she produces her award winning organic olive oil. The tasting session was an eye opener to the rich tastes of this oil. Then we enjoyed Myrtas delicious homecooked food and drink in great company. I highly recommend it!

Lesvos is famous for it's many olive trees and a tour to the legendary Eirini Plomariou olive mill provided us with a first-hand experience. The tour included a drive in a pick-up truck from Plomari, an informative walk in the olive grove where Myrta, one of the owners in this family-driven business, told us about the cultivation of olives and how the oil is made at the mill. Afterwards she and her husband Nicos served us all a wonderful home-cooked meal - in a spirit of joy and true Greek hospitality! Highly recommended! One can sign up at the Irini appartments, west of the harbour

Very informative and tasty presentation offered by Myrta, the enthusiastic and knowledgeable family business owner of this organic and award-winning olive oil factory. Their products are of the highest quality in terms of taste and health benefits. I really recommend everyone to call and book a visit or at least buy their olive oil in a local store, at the airport in Mytilene or if you are lucky in a well-stocked grocery store in your home country. It always feels good to support small entrepreneurs who create benefits for human health and taste experiences, as well as for the climate.

I never expected that visiting an olive farm could be such a treat! What a wonderful evening this has been. What you can expect? First, Greek hospitality at its finest. Second, a palpable passion for making the world's best olive oil (and after the tasting, I am in no doubt they do!). Third, learning how and why this particular olive oil tastes like it does (hint: Simon & Garfunkel's Scarborough Fair: "parsley, sage, rosemary & thyme" - not added to the oil in any way, but miraculously making their presence felt through the undergrowth). Fourth, getting to know Myrta and her wonderful family (caveat: you will lose your heart). Fifth, the feast! (the very best Greece has to offer. And finally, the view - if this does not leave you amorous, nothing will!
