This is a small town - but if you are looking for a place to take a drive to in the mountains then this is perfect. Its very quiet but still nice enough to have a stroll around and also has some great views. The drive to Vilaflor is very attractive. I would recommend the TF-21 route. Also Restaurante El... More

Vilaflor is the highest village in Tenerife and significantly cooler because of its altitude. It is also a serious potato growing country. We parked at the plaza behind the church and enjoyed a beautiful walk in the town. If you have the time, there are beautiful hiking trails in the area. The most popular being Paisaje Lunar and is one... More

Vilaflor is a nice place to stop and go for a little walk on your way up to Teide or down from there. There are some cafes and bar, of which I particularly recommend Casa Pana (see my entry on that one). I think Vilaflor gives you an impression of what rural life on Tenerife's south part can be like.

Nice village, it is worth to stop here on your way to Teide and to take a walk. Actually all the local sights are on the main square next to the parking lot.

The village has some old spots and is nice to walk through, much more character than the concrete tourist resorts, making it suitable for a stop on the way to the Teide.

Visited here on advice during our trip round the island, nothing much to report, little life, atmosphere or anywhere open for drinks, food or otherwise was expecting more sadly uneventful. Seems to be a haunt for backpackers and climbers for mount teide.

We were staying at Hotel Villalba and went down in to the village for a look around. Lovely church and some restaurants, very quiet village with very small tiny roads to drive through. Definitely recommend a small car !! Well worth going to see traditional Spanish village.

Lovely views of the Island. Over 1400 metres high. Good for walkers. A few small churches to visit. Very peaceful.

We stayed in the hotel Vila Alba for a night and walked down to the village, a beautiful, quiet village with stunning scenery, several local bars and restaurants. A very old church and lovely square. A bit of real Tenerife.
