I was £5.50 for the ferry boat trip and entrance to the castle. When you get to castle you pay the £5.50 then if you want any information on the castle you fork out more for the guide book because ther is no info boards of any kind around which is first for me and maybe explains the cheep price... A 5 min boat journey to this little place. It has a shop inside where u can buy a coffee or souvenir . Great views from the tower. Definitely worth a visit.

There is not much to this place but in time when they complete the restoration it will be special. So support the people that work here and visit this unique little gem.

Small castle but if you like historic buildings, it is well worth a visit. A little boat picks you up and you will need to allow about 45 minutes to appreciate the castle. There is a small shop and very knowledgeable staff.

The castle looks really small so we weren't sure there would be much to see. We waited for the boat which goes across every half hour. It was early and we were the only ones on the boat so had the place to ourselves. During the short boat trip we were fascinated to hear the two boatmen talking to each... More

We went on the very short boat trip to Kisimul castle. It takes under five minutes. Kisimul castle dominates the views from Castlebay..the "capital" of Barra, I guess! The castle is very surprising. It looks very different to what would be expected from the outside. There was lots of information about the McNeils history, and that of the castle itself... More

A classic little castle with excellent views, but its all over in an hour. Fun to visit in the little boat.
