    Beautiful beach
Perfect, pristine beach with relaxed atmosphere. Enough happening without being too busy. We love it here and cannot wait to come back. Highly recommend the Banana Fan Sea Resort which is right on the beach and perfectly located for restaurants and shopping also.

    Fantastic beach
Absolutely love this beach. 4th visit to this beach and stay at Amari…….last visit 2019, then no more THANKS COVID. So clean and the sand so white. When the tide is out you can walk out to the island or breakwater wall as water only up to just below the knees. Great to walk from one end to the other.....quite a few kilometres.......lots of bars and restaurants along the way. Annette and David (Australia)

    Nice beach, better ones around.
For a few days were there the sea was very rough. The beach can be slightly overcrowded this time of year. The tide is quite far in which means not much beach this time of year. Been here before June/July time and much better that time of year. Tide was further out, calmer sea. Would I come back to this beach? yes I would.

    Good n Bad !!
Chaweng Beach in one of the topmost attraction in Koh Samui. The certain part of the beach is very crowded with a lot of bars n restaurants, water sports, beach massage facilities etc. In this part sunbeds with umbrellas are easily available but it is little dirty due to a lot of hawkers. The quieter side of beach was much better. It was was less crowded and cleaner with lesser facilities. We preferred this side. We also tried one evening Chaweng main street. It was quite bad.

    Great Beach!
Thailand beaches are among the very best in the world. While staying at the Muang Samui hotel, we had access to this amazing beach and we fell in love with it. There was a breakwater that kept the waves down and its shallow enough to wade out to the breakwater easily. Keep an eye on the flags on the beach because on several days, the water looked clam but the current was surprisingly strong.

Beautiful beach spoiled by locals using it as an autobahn, every morning, everynight, for the stupidly stupid task of towing jet skis,,,
How daft is that???
They can drive the jet skis in the ocean, to where they need to be, not spoil the beach with dirty old polutting diesel trucks, particularly driving where people sit to watch sunset, ultra dangerous, especially with locals who haven't the first clue about driving, come on authority of langkawi, you want dead tourists on the beach?

Super hot day at the beach so the breeze was welcome. Bring sunscreen and money - lovely beach - lots of spread out room. I would recommend going earlier in the day as the beach did fill up by late afternoon.

We walked along here early evening and the beach had so much plastic on it. What a shame. We also found it hard to 'get off the beach' once on it.

We’d heard so many good things about it we booked 8 nights out of our 4 week trip
The hotel is lovely and right on the beach and can’t do enough for you. However step out in to the street it’s seedy, dirty and extremely loud I can’t compare it to anything as i’ve never been anywhere quite like it. The Central shopping centre is very nice with lots of shops and restaurants. We are in our 60’s yes, but I’m a 70’s girl and love music so definitely not a fuddy duddy and Benidorm happens to be one of my favourite places.
We have a car which is great to escape
Fisherman’s village is perfect we’ll be eating there tomorrow

Many guests giving Chaweng Beach a very positive review? Sorry but I strongly disagree with this. We have visited more beaches in Thailand and all is very dirty. There is garbage all over, plastic bottles, straws, plastic mugs etc. why don’t Thailand not having a beach-clean-up system like Spain? It’s there living 🤔. There is no lifeguards present which seem strange because the ocean is very rough.

Chawing was once a delightful hub of nomadic travellers with rich sea life and stunning scenery with a wee bit of cheeky nightlife to boot… now it is dirty, cheap looking and attracts the type of tourist trying to avoid Crimea for sun.. like the rest of tourist Thailand visitors have seen through the novelty of legalised cannabis - every other store is an (empty) cannabis shop. Went diving from there and saw more litter less exotic sea life. Looks like people have sure got greedy in the last 20 years.. shame shame

I first came to samui in 1988 when there was no airport- it was paradise found!!
I came back in 2005 with my husband and stayed at Amari hotel which was lovely and even though it was built up with hotels and a charming little airport it still had charm.
We are here again now but staying in Mae nam as we wanted a quiet area but we visited Chaweng last night!
Honestly I’m heartbroken by what we saw, I could t recognise it at all and the Thai government and the human race collectively should be ashamed of allowing a beautiful island to be desecrated in such a way!:(
So sad 😞
