The antique pharmacy is no longer in operation, but closed in 2002. For a small symbolic fee a very knowledgeable and friendly lady let you in and explains the details. It's not big but fun and original - even the smell!

I wasn't expecting this to be as small as it is, but wow! It is truly stepping back in time. One room full of glass jars and ceramic pots all labelled up. From aloe vera to belladonna. Original aspirin and glass syringes. The smell is part of the experience. Our guide was great and gave us a truly personal experience.

As someone who retired from pharmacy five years ago I found this very interesting. As a student in the sixties I could remember much of the old equipment they had on show, and alot about the chemicals that were used then. I do think that anyone growing up in the forties and fifties would remember just what it was like going into a chemists shop back then and it would bring back many memories. We had a young lady showing us around whose name was Federica , who was very well informed and friendly.
