The Dive Master and his team are not only very professional divers and excellent instructors, they are also super fun and friendly! This really adds something to the experience and it makes every dive excursion with them a memorable time.

I decided to try a new adventure for my 5th visit to the always reliable Maldives and booked Addu Atoll where about 10% of Maldivians live. It is near the Equator and has year round good diving conditions and warm water at 29 degrees C . As a Brit I was glad to discover that the British base in Gan in WW2 to the mid-70s had left the locals quite pro-British.
I dived with Addu Dive and Instructor Saalim and DM Maadhi were careful, helpful and delightfully companionable. They had 4 Maldivian DM students that week who were good company and as an elderly woman with a mild heart rhythm problem I was allowed to choose the dive sites to stay below 20m depth as instructed by my dive physician. We dived from a dhoni with excellent help from the 2 boat crew and I was waited on hand and foot by Suhail. Ginger tea between dives kept us deliciously warm.
The reefs were healthy and reef fish plentiful and we saw lots of green and hawksbill turtles, eagle rays, white tip sharks, octopus and mantas. On my last day we did the WW2 British Loyalty tanker wreck, the largest wreck in the Maldives lying in 18 – 33m depth and the final glorious dive was at Manta Point. The incoming current brings the mantas to the cleaning station and when we divers arrived they came to us ( with manta whisperer Maadhi inviting them with hand gestures) and hovered just above us to enjoy the sensation of our dive bubbles on them. So we had wonderful close up contact with them for 35 minutes. A white tip shark hung around apparently just enjoying the current.
I stayed at Wavesound 3S, a comfortable 7 room sunset-facing Guest House on the beach with an attached restaurant which was used by the locals so felt nice and normal. Addu Dive and the guest house are sister companies.

I took my sister to giver her a DSD experience as her birthday present. She have all kinds of phobia when it comes to the ocean, though she knows how to swim she panic very easily. Team at Addu Dive, specially Saalim (Dive Instructor) did an amazing job to make sister super comfortable to be in the ocean. At first she did panic a few times but we can say that she have mastered in those areas all because of Saalim.
All the services provided from this dive center is on the top notch. Totally recommending this place for your next dive 💯.

Wow where to start... Addu Dive is an amazing dive center to dive with!!
Saalim and Maadhi came and greeted us on the first day of our holiday to welcome us and make us feel comfortable with them, and to prepare us for our week of diving. We had a blast and after several attempts we saw and meet with the Manta Rays!! :)
Despite some bad weather, the team were alwasy happy, friendly and smilely, they always went out of their way to make our experience and diving the best possible. They showed us great dive sites.
They use really good and new equipment and if you bring your own they also help to look after it with care, it really is 5 star service :)
We also did a clean up dive with the team in the local harbour as a way to give back to the community, it was very special.
Thanks for an amazing time, i will be coming back again!

Best dives in Maldives with Salim and Maadi. Professional. Kind. And always smiling. Addu atoll. Remote hidden gem of the Maldives. 2nd year. Always happy to be back.

Great experience with professionals, flexible and very friendly Team.
Not only the diving but the open water fishing with catching a Wahoo made it one of the best adventure during our stay. Many thanks to Saalim and his Team for the great time.

We were two divers who went diving with Addu for six days, and we had a truly wonderful time. For most of the time there were just the two us on the boat and at most of the dive sites, which meant that there was a really calm and relaxed atmosphere. Saalim and his team were both highly professional and fun to be around, and they even made a small vidoe for us and shared small clips from the dives which we appreciate very much.
The dive sites were very diverse, and we saw lots of different fish, turtles, sharks, corals and of course mantas which were awesome.
We stayed at Equator Village, but someone from Addu Dive picked us up every morning, and drove ud back after diving, so that was super easy.

A lovely group of local dive professionals, friendly, attentive, fun to be around and dive with. A very well organised operation on an island paradise.
Fantastic Manta cleaning station with the strongest current I ever experienced but what an amazing dive!!!
Would highly recommend a stay on the island to get a feel of the true Maldives - go diving with a local dive centre rather then taking a liveaboard on a southern route. A unique experience unlike any you would ever get on a liveaboard. Much smaller groups of divers in the water at any at any given time and for sure more bang for your buck..
