With our limited Spanish we thought we were going to get ice cream with chocolate and instead we got a cup of chocolate with ice cream. It was delicious. We returned the next day for the helado con Ron - good but we preferred the chocolate. They also sell chocolates that are made on location. There is an inside dining... More

For 5 pesos (20 cents!) you can enjoy a really rich chocolate ice-cream with a deep flavour. Not to be missed!

We just left Baracoa. The Casa Del Chocolate is two types of places. In the daytime it sells liquid and bar Chocolate. This is cacao country and they know Chocolate. Personally the liquid Chocolate needed to be sweeter but the dark and milk chocolates we bought were great. We went back late at night after a dance show for drinks.... More

Being in Cuba's chocolate town, I wanted to try a local chocolate drink. The place was quite full with locals, mostly having chocolate ice cream. I ordered a cold chocolate which was not a good choice. It was terribly sweet, almost undrinkable. Should have tried the ice cream... Anyway, it only cost a few cents ..

My girlfriend and I came here on our first day and decided that the chocolates can't be worth the 0.6 CUC price tag. We came back on our last day and decided to try them. At both visits there was only 1 type of chocolate sweets and they were remarkably similar in taste / consistency to the factory-made chocolate bars.... More

We were told about this from a fellow traveller and he spoke highly of it. We came in on our last day in Baracoa and ordered the Rum and Chocolate. It was awesome, although try to inhale when you take the first sip! You get a little hooked on them, but they are a little pricey for Cuban standards at... More

Don't bother showing up. I think this was the worst hot chocolate we had in Baracoa, which is, allegedly, the place where you can get the best chocolate in Cuba. We came here because some local friends recommended it, however, the experience was disappointing to say the least. We also managed to get some chocolate-based sweeties and they were equally... We spent the day on a havana tour and finished our day in this lovely place. There was a shop where we could buy the famous baracoa chocolate and the chocolate with ice cream was divine to us - it was so hot outside. Staff were helpful and lovely to talk to.

I spent 3 nights in Baracoa as part of our G adventures tour. We came here one day with a German couple we met at the Museo Arqueologico la Cueva Del Paraiso to witness the "real" Baracoa chocolate we read in travel books. The options were hot chocolate, cold chocolate or chocolate ice-cream with hot/cold chocolate poured on top. I... More

Spent a few nights in Baracoa as part of my G Adventures tour and loved this little spot. They had live music playing out the back on the nights I visited, with an awesome band playing bachata style music. Not as raucous or loud as the other live music venues, more relaxed vibe and energy and the band members were... More
