As the 1st Temple of my Henro Pilgrimage it holds a special place in my heart. Just a short walk from Bando train station. There are 2 stores where you can buy Henro gear. Its a beautiful temple.

This temple is the No.1 temple on the list of 88 temples where pilgrims must visit in Shikoku. It is one of the oldest Japanese Buddhism temples in Japan. The structures are mainly built of wood set out around a small pond.

It's a very traditional temple made of woods. Something you are looking for if you like traditional building. Very calm and peaceful place.

If you catch the train the route to Ryozen-ji is not immediately obvious - nothing in English. The temple is lovely and being the first temple on the Shikoku Pilgrimage it is quite busy with pilgrims getting organised for their trips. The shop at the...More

Unfortunately there is no Hotel nrarby to stay. I could not found one. So I stayed one of hotel nearby JR Naruto station.
