The museum consists of the old artefacts which are good for preserving history. The natural forests with baboon and birds is fantastic. crocodile and tortoise, python are enjoying to view.

If you want to see the black mamba, puff adder,crocodiles and terrapins as well as experience the culture of the local luhya and Mandi people. This is the place to be. In the gallery one sees a variety of exhibits from numerous antelopes and evolution of man as well as a collection of different Kenyan cultures. To crown it all... More

Stuffy exhibition, the park is full of plastics, in the museum few relicts from ancient times, some animals, the wild monkeys they give once a day lollopops for a treat

it has big crocodiles and some snakes. You can see a traditional African houses, and a small musuem with a very nice guide.

We visited the museum because we had a couple of hours to kill in Kitale. The main exhibit hall had some lackluster taxidermy, with the cheetah being a personal favorite. Some artifacts of cultural significance were on display, and several showcases were empty. The crocodile is enclosed in an extremely small space without fresh water. The snakes and tortoises were... Shame about the litter in the nature walk (no monkeys spotted). Biggest crocodile I've ever seen. Looked sad. Some good bits in the museum but often bizarre. Worth a trip but with low-ish expectations.

The guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Exhibits need a little more investment. Some were 'in storage', not on view.

I was visiting in kitale and there was a No Compromise Event for New Years Eve! It was so fun! Plus they have this zoo on the same property and they have interesting animals!

I used to go to the Kitale Museum so this was a nostalgia trip. There were a lot of exhibits missing; I was told there had been some thefts. The tortoise pen was still there, though, and the nature walk was nice.
