Not your usual day to day place

As with the previous reviews, in order to capture the full glory of the caves, go when the sun is overlooking the caves, this certainly adds a sparkle to the visit.

If you wish to feel you are visiting the fairies home then you should visit the Melissani cave .Mysterious , unique in its beauty and sounds of silence. The colours cannot be described as well as the feeling you get when you enter the cave .Do not depart Keffalonia unless visit the Melissani cave .

7 euro's each for a short rowing boat ride around a collapsed cave. When we arrived there was nobody else around and so we the only people in the boat and the cave. It was still 'only ok'.

Absolutely beautiful, truly a place I will never forget. The boat ride itself is quite short (10-15 mins) but you will be amazed by the beauty of this place. Definitely worth the trip. We went around 11:30am and there was no queue (bought tickets for 7 euros each and went straight to the cave), however when we were leaving the... More

Stunning, but make sure you arrive just before the coaches! Doesn't take long to take the trip but quite different and our 3 year old really enjoyed it.

We rented a car and headed to Melissa I Cave from our cruise ship! It was very easy to find and a spectacularly beautiful place to see! Only 7 euro each which was a great deal! If you plan on going make sure you try to beat the tour buses! We waited in a line of about 30 people to... More

It is definitely worth going there. We went in October and we were afraid it would have been closed but it was open. The cave and the lake are amazing . I totally enjoyed it and the boatman singing in Greek while giving us a commentary

If the weather is poor and it not a Beach day it's worth a trip, can be congested if a cruse ship is in, we got there just before 4 coaches turned up so went straight on the little boats, quite impressive inside.
