Love it but prepare for lot of walking and countless stairs.

This place is huge and there are many ways to get to the top. Some are less difficult and some are very challenging. If you walked from the mountain base it may take you 3 days to... read more

This place is huge and there are many ways to get to the top. Some are less difficult and some are very challenging. If you walked from the mountain base it may take you 3 days to the top but don't worry there are much shorter and easier ways. The beauty is not on the top only but along the... More

We visited the Mountain in mid April - spring time - and, from half way up, it was completely covered in thick fog. Standing at the base of Golden Summit statue, one could only see the bottom third of it. A great disappointment, especially after seeing the photos of the mountain in sunshine and then spending hours walking up hill... More

Emei Shan is one of the four Buddhist sacred mountains of China. It is simply beautiful and amazing. We were only there for a day trip hence we took the shuttle bus and cable car to go up the mountain. The temperature could vary a lot at the bottom and the top of the mountain. One must bring appropriate gear.... More

Huge mountain with many small temples and treat on the top. Amazing buddha status with temples surrounding. There are cable cars to get up top with about 15mins hiking with easy steps after Cable car which make it easy to hike. Tried going very early to avoid crowds. You see on the feature photo there, it is a van /... More

I took a bus from foot of hill to Leidongping bus station. Then its a 2 hours walk up to the golden summit. Breathtaking views there. But some ongoing construction at the top right now.

We took the train from Chengdu to EMeiShan. Then hired a car for 220 yuans (round trip) to take us to the scenic site entrance. There are shuttle buses at the train station at 90 yuan full price & 40 yuan half price. It depends on how far you want to go in the mountain. Anyway, we paid for the... More

This is my first to Emeishan in the winter time, don't expect it is so tough because of the slippery floor due to the weather. Firstly, not knowing of the slippy floor we are not prepared and our shoes is not suitable for this kind of weather. Although there are something you could to add on to your shoes, however,... More

This was my favourite part of my holiday. Beautiful, interesting things to see (both natural and temples/shops/restaurants) and even some monkeys. The monkeys are wild and can steal food if it's out, but they didn't bother us. However, my legs were quite sore after what felt like thousands of stairs. There are lots of places to rest, but it was... More

Loved this trip, loads of walking to get to some of the best scenic spots but totally worth it! Extremely cold during CNY when we visited, despite feeling I had prepared well, I was still bloody freezing and had to rent an extra thick jacket! TIP: you will want a walking stick (bamboo cane) and those little spikes that u... More
