Old China

Entrance to the Ancient City is free but a ticket (buy at the entrance) is required to visit the old houses and factories. Lots of little shops selling the usual tourist tat.

This was a change of plan stop, a short distance from our hotel and frankly, it was a good change. First, let me say this; if you've been to the "water villages" around Shanghai, there is no need to visit here. It has the same general feel, but is neither as big or as attractive, but that isn't to say... More

If you in the area, this is a nice visit for a few hours. There are a few interesting shops and some old restored architecture but only a few local places to eat. I'll need to go back again as I'm sure I missed something looking at some other reviews and history.

Excellent view of Chinese old houses, culture and history. Old habits is still on the streets. Good food, cheap shopping stores. A place to stay at least 4 hours.

This area is very interesting from a cultural point of view when you realise that many enterprises began here. Some have famous lineage and others are names now forgotten, it's not a single reason to come here yet it should be on your list if you happen to be in this part of the world. The backstreets are interesting and... More

Zhoucun Ancient City is a relic of Zibo's past. Walk the narrow streets (but watch for cars). Enjoy the old architecture and poke your head into the shops (that, in times past, housed other things). If you like taking pictures or taking selfies, this is a great place for that. I really think cars should be prohibited, though.

Tourist street and it's packed daily with inland tourist. It's rare to find foreigners. Old pre war buildings and old history of various establishment can be found here. Worth the walk. Time spent. 1 half hours to finish walking. Took a taxi from zibo city to this place took me about 25 min at 35rmb. Forget about the zhoucun biscuit,... More

It's a quaint little street and area of traditional buildings. Fun to explore for a while but nothing outstanding especially if you have spent much time travelling in China. Fun day out.

This old street is short but it does have some interesting to see. There is a famous biscuit factory along the street where you can buy the freshly made biscuit at the basement. The wafer thin biscuit is delicious.

I've been to the Zhoucun Ancient City several times now, because visit friends and family always seem to want to go. For those just visiting China for the first time it's not a bad quick stop, but in general once is enough. It's been renovated in the old Chinese city style, but mixed in are too many out of place...
