I am an experienced rider and our guide gave me the opportunity to canter on the beach, and he also took good care of my friend who is less experienced. The horses were in good condition and well trained. A lovely place for a ride. They met us on the beach in front of our hotel.

I went with a group of 8 and boy did we have an amazing time! Our guide was Gustavo, he was nothing short of being the sweetest man. The more we rode the more you could tell how these horses truly loved and listened to him. We wanted nothing less than to ride on the beach and it was perfect. We had all different level riders in our group and they accommodated us perfectly, giving us the right horse to best suit our riding experience. Overall a great experience! I must come back to do the sunset tour.

We had a blast. We were mixed in with another group that was doing some kind of promo with drones. Adrian saw my husband and I were not thrilled with the drone and let us ride apart from them. My horse was awesome but I was a bit rusty so Adrian switched horses with me and a wonderful trip became even better. Adrian was so accommodating to everyone in the group. What a great experience!!! Thank you so much!

This by far was the best horseback riding experience I have had. Beautiful, healthy, excellent riding horses. Guides were amazing! We did a morning ride on the beach. It was a good long ride with lots of opportunities to canter along the shoreline. I cannot wait to go back and ride again! BEST EVER!

Diego Solis was an extremely inappropriate tour guide. I hope that my review prevents another group of young girls from using him or any other person affiliate with his company, Rancho Savegre, for a tour. My girlfriends and I hired Diego as our tour guide this past April for horseback riding on the beach and a visit to the local waterfalls in Playa Esterillos. From the moment we arrived at the waterfall, Diego became completely inappropriate, and put us in a very uncomfortable situation. Though we were all in our bathing suits, Diego began taking off his clothes to swim with us. He did not have a bathing suit on, and wanted to swim with us in his tight boxer briefs. A few moments later, he then asked if he could take off his boxers to swim with us naked. At this point, we all became very frightened, and wanted to leave the waterfall immediately. As we were getting dressed and back into our clothes, we noticed Diego was exposing himself to us. Obviously this caused us to seriously fear for our safety. We still had a 15 minute walk back to the car, and an hour car drive with this man back to our hotel. We decided there was no way were going to travel back with Diego and we made the decision to ask for help at a nearby house, where we had to beg a woman to let us stay with her until a taxi would pick us up. This made Diego very angry, and nervous that this would hurt his Tour Guide career. After 20 minutes of arguing he finally left and we were able to get a taxi, and arrive back to our hotel safely. Please, prevent this man from taking advantage of another group of girls, and do not use his company!

In Costa Rica, a very traditional and conservative culture, it is not consider innapropiate if you swim in shorts or boxers, not maybe in middle east countries where I think they came from. Very disappointing from them to come up with this story, when nothing was wrong except I didnt know their moral basics couldnt accept a swim in boxers like in any swimming pool in the world. We invite to look at all many testimonials of all the customers who has taken and enjoyed our tours. We always wish succes and happiness to all our visitors, and we are happy to share a nice day under respect basis.

My friend and I booked a tour and were very excited to go horseback riding through the hills and beach, plus the price was reasonable. We got to the ranch and when our guide Diego went to go get our horses they were tied to a tree and huddled around eachother, i started taking pictures cos they looked so cute...the next thing i see is the tour guide whipping the horses hard with their reigns/ropes to pull them apart, he was hitting them all over including their necks and heads. My friend who was nervous about horseback riding got a lecture with a lot of sarcasm as well. We both wanted to leave but were too scared to say anything since our guide seemed to be a bit of a nutcase. So we saddled up and thought it couldn't get any worse, maybe we just weren't used to the way they treaed animals there.( i myself have been on a few horseback trips around the world and have never seen anything like this!). The actual ride has a nice view but the horses are going uphill on a rocky rd, and since it rains nearly everyday there, they then walked the poor horses through thick mud up to their knees, which seems exremely hard on them. not only that but diego was cussing out his horse in spanish (my friend is spanish and i am fluent, so we knew what he was saying!), and just when we thought that was all, he ends up asking me if his horses tail was moving side to side, i said no, then he said: yes i think it was, and the next thing i know he grabs the horses tail and pins it to its side. I hate to write a review like this but it was pretty traumatizing and ended up being the only negative part of out trip.

We certainly apologize with this lady if the experience was not what she expected. Rancho Savegre is being known since 1994 for having excellent working ranch horses, and a great adventure ride that involves rainforest and beach trails, and that is what we do. and my self I am a National Judge for horse shows, and a well known trainer for my wispering with horses. I am sorry to say that some how, the review do not reflect what we relly do. We invite the future visitors to look other reviews and compare opinions. Finally, if you are very affraid of horses and eventually wants to book an adventure tour, please, let us know about you bad experience before arriving to the property, then we will asign you on a private tour to do it in a specific rithym for very begginers. dont hesitate to contact us directly to explain how is the tour operation.

Today my friend and I went horseback riding with Diego as our guide. We got picked up from our hostel 45 min away and dropped back off as well. When we arrived, we felt totally welcomed and felt really at ease with Diego. This was my fourth time on a horse so I was a bit nervous at first but Diego's great instructions and tips got me moving very quickly! By the second hour I felt like a pro...that's until giving galloping a try on the beach ;) lol

The route was perfect. We started at the ranch and walked into some woodsy areas with awesome trees (one was over a 100 yrs old!!!). Then we crossed a stream or two as we continued through the rolling hills of the 5000 acre ranch. Finally, we rode on the beach where we got to trot and try our hand at galloping. Diego happily took lots of pictures of us with our cameras throughout the day. We ended at a resort where we got to cool off in the pool and then ate a delicious lunch. A wonderful day all around :)

This was a fantastic ride. They came and picked us up as we had no car and it was included in the price of the ride. When we arrived at the ranch the horses were tacked and waiting for us. We then got to ride through the beautiful working ranch then to the beach both were amazingly beautiful and Diego was a great guide he was knowledgeable about the ranch, which we had plenty of questions about and was able to video along side me as i cantered on the beach it was one of the best days i had in costa rica.

I had always wanted to ride on the beach and it was everything I had expected. It was especially neat that there was a baby that tagged along.
